Rolling Hills Reservoir Campground
The Rolling Hills Reservoir Campground is located 20km south of Brooks and is owned and operated by the Eastern Irrigation District.
The campground features 79 daily use sites, 70 seasonal sites and two group camping areas. Sites are well treed with large electrified sites containing gravel pads and a grassy area. Campers have access to potable water, sani-dump station, two playgrounds, washrooms, shower and laundry facilities, two sandy beach areas and an on-leash dog beach. There is also a marina on site with a boat launch and boat slips that allow for easy access to the reservoir. Boat slips are available for rent daily, weekly or seasonally.
Individual sites cannot be reserved, however campers can call the campground office at 403.363.5603 to hold an available site on the same day. Cost for these sites is $40/night.
Come and enjoy the sun, sand, and swimming available to everyone. Bring your boat and enjoy the large lake area for boating and waterskiing. If you enjoy fishing, the lake is an excellent place for that as well.
IMPORTANT NOTE: EID Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention Program in effect. In 2018, the EID started a mandatory Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention Program. All boaters wishing to access EID reservoirs, including Lake Newell, must follow approved prevention procedures and complete a watercraft information and commitment form stating they will not knowingly spread any aquatic invasive species. As part of the program, trailered watercraft must only be launched from approved boat launches and boaters must check in with the campground offices, marina, or the Eastern Irrigation District Office before launching their boat. Canoes, kayaks, and other non-trailered watercraft may continue to be launched at random locations, but the boaters are still required to check in with the campground, marina, or EId office prior to launching.
Boaters can go to the EID office, Lake Newell Resort Marina, Rolling Hills Campground, or Crawling Valley Campground to fill out a watercraft information form and commitment form and receive an EID sticker; sticker must be presented prior to launching.
Watercrafts Include: motorized (boats, sailboats, zodiacs, etc.) and non-motorized (canoes, kayaks (adult/kid kayaks), paddleboards, sailboats, etc.)
