Overview

Organized by archaeologist Jack Ives and the Institute of Prairie Archaeology, the annual Stones & Bones event is a a free, family event where you can come and meet archaeologists, paleontologists, and field school students working in the area.

You will also be able to check out their display of artifacts and bring in your finds for photos and identification! Join them and try your hand at atlatl (spear) throwing and stone tool making.

Located at Mattheis Ranch, Rangeland Research Institute – 25km north of Duchess, just west of the junction of Hwy 36 and Hwy 556
