Overview

In celebration of Black History month, there will be a showing of the movie “42” in the Flex Room at the JBS Canada Centre on February 25 at 4:00pm. Everyone welcome!!

This event is FREE (change donations will be accepted and donated to a relevant charity). Popcorn included!!

“42” tells the story of two men-the great Jackie Robinson and legendary Brooklyn Dodgers GM Branch Rickey – whose brave stand against prejudice forever changed the world.

In 1946, Branch Rickey (Harrison Ford), legendary manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers, defies major league baseball’s notorious colour barrier by signing Jackie Robinson (Chadwick Boseman) to the team. The heroic act puts both Rickey and Robinson in the firing line. Facing open racism from all sides, Robinson demonstrates true courage by not reacting in kind and lets his undeniable talent silence the critics.
